The lads from Mauron

Where we have our house in Mauron Brittany I have always been fascinated by a war monument which lies just outside the town. The names of three American service men and one local French man are inscribed. They lost their lives on the August 3rd 1944 as the allies liberated Brittany.

I have begun researching into the lives of these men with fascinating results! Their names Charles Roodman, Andrew Brugge and James Coleman along with Vital Percebois the local lad are etched into the cold stone. I am determined to tell their story so please watch this space!
